Periodically I do self portraits and more recently portraits of my daughter and I. I want to capture the mood of the the gaze. A gaze that gives strength, love and confidence back to me and my daughter; a reminder to be strong, clear and to celebrate being a woman. The 'Pale Beauty' series explores the vulnerability and gentle strength of Eve, my daughter, as she finds her own way to deal with life and becoming a woman. As she looks at herself I gaze at her. I am creating works that I hope summon up and reflect back confidence for her to step out into the world as a confident woman.
